How to play

Clear the board by removing all 144 tiles in matching pairs. Every deal can be won.

Pick free tiles

You can only pick a tile that is free: nothing sits on top of it, and its left or right side is open. Free tiles are lit. Blocked tiles stay dark.

On a phone held upright, the board is turned so its rows run top to bottom. There, a tile is free when its top or bottom is open.

Both ends of a row are free. The middle tile has neighbors on both sides, so it's blocked.

A tile underneath another one is blocked until the top tile is gone.

Match pairs

Select one free tile, then a matching free tile. The pair is removed. Select a tile again to deselect it.

Most tiles only match an identical tile.
Any flower matches any other flower.
Any season matches any other season.
The same number in different suits doesn't match.

The small numbers on flowers and seasons come from traditional mahjong, where they tie each tile to a seat at the table. They don't affect matching here.

The tiles

The set has 144 tiles. Each suit, wind and dragon tile appears four times. Each flower and season appears once.

Controls

Hint H: Makes a matching pair pulse.
Undo U: Takes back the last match or shuffle. You can undo all the way to the start.
Shuffle S: Rearranges the remaining tiles into a position that can still be won.
New game: Pick a layout (Turtle, Fortress or Dragon) and deal a fresh board. The game remembers your last pick.
Clear selection Esc: Deselects the tile you picked.

If no free tiles match, the game says so and offers Shuffle, Undo or a new game. Your fastest clear on each layout is saved as your best time in this browser.
